There are so many things to do in the East Devon area, many of them right on our doorstep. We provide a guide full of local information in the cottages so you can decide what your children may enjoy most. No doubt you will find it hard to choose which to visit first!
There are award winning family attractions including Wildwood Escot, Crealy, and Pecorama. Children can connect with the Jurassic Coastline by hunting for fossils on Charmouth beach or visiting the Dinosaurland and Fossil museum at Lyme Regis.
You can burn off steam by hiring bikes to explore the Exe Estuary cycle path: 26 miles of mainly flat cycle paths linking beautiful towns and villages steeped in maritime history with wonderful views. You can even hire a kayak and paddle up the River Exe instead!
Grab a place on a mackeral fishing boat outing from Lyme Regis or go crabbing off the famous cob. Visit the incredible stalactite caves of Cheddar Gorge and why not combine this with seeing how Cheddar Cheese is made?
For those interested in sports you can watch Somerset County Cricket or a T20 game at the county ground at nearby Taunton. Sandy Park, home to the Exeter Chiefs Rugby and Yeovil Town Football are both within easy reach too.
